Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements in UAE
In the UAE, the healthcare regulatory bodies, including the Department of Health (DoH), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and Ministry of Health (MoH), adhere to the same Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements. However, they issue different licenses depending on the region (Emirate) where you intend to work. It is important to note that certain terms and conditions may vary, particularly concerning the examination and activation processes for the license. Therefore, it is advisable to carefully preplan and decide in which emirate you wish to work, and subsequently, apply for licensure in that specific region.

For Physicians

To be eligible for a professional license as a Physician, you must be a graduate from an accredited Medical School with an MBBS or equivalent qualification. Additionally, successful completion of an internship program with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience is required.

For Nurses

If you are interested in applying for a Registered Nurse/School Nurse/Practical Nurse/Assistant Nurse professional license in DHA, DOH, MOH, the eligibility criteria differ based on your qualifications and experience. For those with a diploma and at least one year of experience, you are eligible for a PN (Practical Nurse) or Assistant Nurse license. If you hold a BSc in Nursing and possess a minimum of two years of experience, you qualify for an RN (Registered Nurse) or School Nurse license.

Required Documents for License Transfer

To transfer your healthcare license within the UAE, you will need the following documents:

Valid & Active UAE Healthcare License:

You must hold a valid and active healthcare license issued by any of the UAE healthcare authorities (DOH, DHA, or MOH).

Minimum of 3 Months' Experience:

You should have completed at least 3 months of work experience in your current position.

Educational Qualifications:

Copies of your educational certificates and qualifications.

 

Experience Certificates:

Certificate of Good Standing:

A certificate confirming your good standing and ethical conduct in your current role.

Primary Source Verification:
